Aqueous was a key member of a multidisciplinary team to design the 6.5-acre addition to the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, an outdoor portion of the New Orleans Museum of Art that is open to the public, free of charge. The irrigation design and installation featured many challenges, including air spading around mature, historic trees, ensuring that the irrigation spray did not detract from the sculptors’ artistic visions, and the multi-year project timeline. The Sculpture Garden also features a brackish lagoon. Irrigation of the plants immediately surrounding the lagoon was especially critical to wash the saline water from the root systems. The Sculpture Garden was completed and opened to the public in May 2019.
